FAQs
Welcome to the Whimsical Creations FAQ hub! If you’re new to DTF (Direct to Film) printing or just want to make sure you get the best results from your transfer, you’re in the right place. If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out — we’re happy to help!
Do you have a minimum order?
Nope! Order just one transfer or hundreds — we don’t believe creativity should come with limits.
What kind of files do you accept?
We accept high-resolution files in .PNG, .PDF, .AI, or .PSD formats. Make sure your file is 300 DPI with a transparent background. Need help? Our gangsheet builder offers a free file check before printing.
Do you gang files for me?
Yes! You can upload a pre-ganged sheet, or we’ll gang your images for free if you’re ordering multiple designs.
What sizes do you offer?
We print gang sheets up to 22″ wide, and you can fit as many images as you want. Individual transfer sizes are totally customizable—just enter the size when you upload.
How fast will my order ship?
Orders are typically printed and shipped within 1–2 business days. Rush turnaround available on request.
Do you ship across Canada?
Yes! We ship Canada-wide with tracking. Local pickup may be available depending on your region—just ask.
How is my order packaged?
We ship all transfers rolled in shipping tubes with pressing instructions included. Your artwork arrives ready to press, no curling or damage.
How do I apply my DTF transfer?
Here’s our recommended method:
- Pre-press garment for 10 seconds to remove moisture
- Temperature: 325°F
- Pressure: Medium to firm
- Time: Press for 16 seconds
- Peel: Cold peel (after pressing)
- Re-press: Cover with parchment and repress for 16 seconds
Do I need a heat press or can I use an iron?
A heat press gives the best results. A high-quality household iron can work in a pinch, but we don’t guarantee wash durability unless pressed with a heat press.
Can I use a Cricut EasyPress?
Yes, but results may vary depending on your pressure and consistency. Use firm pressure and a hard pressing surface.
How long do your transfers last?
Our prints are tested to last over 100 washes without cracking, fading, or peeling—when washing and pressing instructions are followed.
How should I wash my garment after pressing?
- Wait 24 hours before the first wash
- Wash inside out, cold water, gentle cycle
- No fabric softener in the wash
- Tumble dry low or hang dry (hang dry is always best)
- Do not bleach or dry clean
What fabrics can I use DTF transfers on?
DTF transfers work beautifully on cotton, polyester, spandex, tri-blends, canvas, tote bags, and even caps. No pretreatment needed!
Are your inks eco-friendly?
Yes! We use premium-quality, non-toxic inks that meet international safety standards for clothing and apparel.
Can I use your transfers for resale?
Absolutely! Our transfers are perfect for small businesses, boutique shops, and anyone wanting to scale their custom apparel without managing print equipment.
What if my transfer doesn’t press right?
Check our heat press guide or contact us directly. We’re happy to troubleshoot and make it right if there’s a quality issue with your print.
